Today's Style Trends: Christmas

Nina's Traditions:
Every Christmas Eve, (after some local pizza delivery) my older brother and I open a little Christmas gift before we go to bed. Then we wake up on Christmas and open our Santa stocking presents on our parent's bed! I usually have a large cup of coffee, wear my comfiest clothes, and sometimes even have a Santa hat! After that, we go downstairs and make Dutch Cake (and I have a second cup of coffee haha)! Then we make a fire and open the presents under the tree. Later that night, we'll have a nice dinner. We don't go visit family, travel, or have a huge family feast. But I love the simplicity of it and can't wait for Christmas morning :)
Here are some outfits that will inspire me Christmas day!

Lexy's Traditions:
Every Christmas Eve, my family and I spend time together, and open one single gift after a nice roast dinner. Then my cousins Sierha and Bennet, Mum, Gran, and I go for a drive to look at the Christmas lights! We've done this for as long as I can remember. It's such a lovely memory to have! On Christmas morning, my Father and I prepare the Christmas dinner. Around 8:00 a.m. I open my gifts with my family, along with having a delicious breakfast and then lunch prepared by my Dad! We usually have hot chocolate and sit around the tree. I typically stay in pajamas all day, and then at night my family and I will go to a Christmas film at our local theater, or go to a play! I typically dress up for that. Hope you all have a lovely holiday season! Here's some of what I'll be wearing this Christmas. x

Today's Style Trends: Fur

Today on Today's Style Trends, we're going to be discussing something controversial... Fur! It's been a staple in the fashion industry for multiple years, and we think that this is a great way to look chic and stay warm this winter. Of course, it doesn't have to be real fur! Faux fur is the best alternative to this as killing an animal for fashion "needs" is very selfish, and we don't promote that in any aspect! Staying in trend this winter with faux fur is definitely key!
Here are some amazing looks with fur from previous fashion weeks:

(From 1 to 6)
Carolina Herrera, Badgley Mischka, The Row, Prabal Gurung, Monique Lhuillier, Jason Wu

Fur has also made its way onto the streets! Street Style inspirations such as Abbey Lee Kershaw and Jessica Hart have donned cozy fur coats for the cold winter.

We hope that you guys love this chic trend as much as we do, and have some pieces in your wardrobe this winter!
Here is some style inspiration that we created if you're feeling a bit stuck on how to wear fur:

Today's Style Trends: Slip-ons

From every Fashion Week in September to personal style bloggers across the internet, slip-ons are making a comeback! Céline paved the way with their tartan, leopard, and furry pairs, and now brands such as Zara, Topshop, Kurt Geiger, and Steve Madden are joining in.
This trend was huge back in the early 2000's, but the comeback they're making is huge! It's a popular trend with style bloggers today. They're a piece that is easy to slip on (quite literally!) when you're in a rush.

Though these may seem a bit hard to style when they're patterned, we have come up with several ideas:

Today's Style Trends: Jumpsuits

Today on Today's Style Trends, we'll be discussing jumpsuits! They're the ultimate transitional piece this Autumn/Winter. They can elongate your legs, and make you appear slimmer, all while adding a chic twist on an outfit! They were on nearly every runway in September, and we took notice.

BCBG Max Azria
LFW
Mulberry
MFW
Emilio Pucci
PFW
Lanvin

We've also seen plenty of jumpsuits on the runway from designers such as Rachel Zoe, Chanel, Phillip Lim, and many more!
There are two kinds of jumpsuits: the longer ones which are perfect for winter, or the shorter ones which are adorable for summer (unless you're fortunate enough to live in a year-round summer!)
Here are some sets from Polyvore that we both created to help inspire you! It shows just how versatile jumpsuits can be!

Today's Style Trends: Over The Knee Boots

This Autumn/Winter, make sure to look out for the ultra sophisticated over the knee boot! This trend is by far the easiest way to make a look sexy, sleek, and sophisticated. This look has been seen on the runway by a multitude of designers such as Tibi, Phillip Lim, Chanel, Céline, and many more. They were notably the stand out piece to each outfit they were featured in!

We've also seen street style icons such as Olivia Palermo, Danielle Bernstein, and Miranda Kerr wear over the knee booties!

Though this trend can be somewhat expensive if you want the very well made leather boots, you can get a slightly more affordable over the knee boot at ASOS, Macy's, and even Bloomingdales! You can wear this look even with over the knee socks, or tights for added warmth if where you live gets slightly cold.

This trend is definitely going to make your looks stand out this season! Pair them with an oversized sweater, shift dress, or leather skirt, and you can master the style easily.
Here are some looks on how to style the looks this season:
