Today's Style Trends: Tartan

Our next trend is definitely something that you have seen before: Tartan! Tartan was all over runways around the world, and style bloggers are taking notice. This trend may come across as very 90's grunge, but you can definitely make it very modern!

Stella McCartney, Céline, Saint Laurent
From the runway to the retailers, tartan is showing up in stores everywhere! You will definitely see it in Forever21 to Bloomingdales! Tartan is so accessible, you can get it on any budget. There are so many choices, it's easy to incorporate it into your A/W wardrobe! You don't have to go all out with tartan like they did on the runway, but you can add a couple bold tartan prints into your outfit to mix it up a bit! Make sure to keep a look out for this trend this A/W!

Topshop, Express, ASOS, The WhitePepper, ASOS, Zara, Zara, Topshop, Paisie
Here are some ideas on how you can incorporate tartan into your daily outfits :)

Today's Style Trends: Velvet

One trend this A/W that we are seeing a lot of is velvet! Though this may bring back memories of what your mother forced you into as a child, it's now your choice of what velvet pieces you put in your closet. And there is a lot to choose from. Designers have made the fabric in a variety of staple pieces such as jackets, pants, jumpsuits, dresses, and gowns. Velvet is such an essential, as it makes your outfit has a lot more texture, making it stand out! It's chic and put together, while also being simple and easily accessible! We're definitely incorporating this trend into our wardrobes this season! Are you?

Beyond the runway, we have seen velvet skirts, pinafores, biker jackets (the Givenchy one with leather detailing is to die for), and even (Nina's personal favorite) dungarees!

Topshop, ASOS, Saint Laurent, H&M, Givenchy

These pieces can be dressed up and down!

Today's Style Trends: Pastels

Pastels may have previously been seen as a Spring color, but this Autumn, they're making an appearance! Pastels are a lovely way to make your outfit unique by adding a slight bit of color. This trend is a must this Autumn, and to make it look less 'spring-y', balance out their sweetness with black.

You can add a small amount of pastels to a simple outfit to make it more unique:

Or you could make a statement with an oversized pastel coat if you're feeling brave:

This look has been seen on the runway many times by designers such as Céline, Rochas, and Acne Studios.

Today's Style Trends: Paris Fashion Week Review

Ah, Paris Fashion Week. One of those experiences that you want to see how it will end, but you don't want it to end at all. So many designers came to this fashion capitol to showcase their latest collections, and we kept a close eye on all of them. Below are our absolute favorites. There were so many amazing trends that we saw recurring is most shows, some that even were seen in New York, London, and Milan. There was lots of black and white, monochrome, jumpsuits, graphic prints, sheer fabrics, stripes, cut outs, lace, pastels, loose silhouettes, and of course florals. From Balenciaga to Balmain and Chanel to Alexander McQueen, legendary designers did not disappoint. Also, up and coming designers, such as Jay Ahr, proved themselves and brought in a breath of fresh air. Overall, Paris Fashion Week was a wonderful way to end September.
